In April 2017 the SWI turned 100. To celebrate, Leith SWI President organised a walk from the SWI HQ on Heriot Row, Edinburgh, to Longniddry, East Lothian where the first SWI meeting took place. The walk was 13 miles - a half marathon. SWI members from all over Scotland travelled to Edinburgh to take part. Longniddry institute members hosted a party at the finishing line with tea and lots of home made cakes.

The walk began on the steps of the SWI Headquarters with some SWI members and descendants of Catherine Blair, the original SWI founder.

The Leith SWI members in Longniddry at the end.

Two of Catherine's great grand-daughters gave us a talk on Catherine and demonstrated photos, some of Catherine's newspaper clippings and letters, and Mak'Merry pottery.
